I am considering doing a SOG run next go around and have a question.

I am trying to calculate the max number of clones I can fit in my area, which is 3x3 and lit by a 400 W HPS. I will be using 2 liter soda bottles, to my knowledge these are 4 inches in diameter, which means I can fit 9 per row, times 3 row's equals 27.

Is this calculation reasonable or realistic?

u want 4 plants per square foot in a no/low veg sog.... so 36 would be ur max... 27 would be great! if u were to fill it with 2lt botles, 9 per row u could fit 81 but thats tooo many

You have to think about the lights footprint, which is mostly square.

A 400 will do good in a 3x3 area.

But 9 two liters end to end is 3 feet. And I like to keep them a bit away from each other or they crowd each other out.


I do 25 two liters under a 400 HPS with 5 rows of 5.

My space is 4x4 but I only use about 3.5x3.5 of it.


I have not tried it yet but 6 rows of 6 = 36 would fit nice in a 4x4 area. Iam just not sure if a 400 would cover them good.
