Default Tap Water?? Please Help!
If I let my tap water sit out for a few days will it raise the ph of my soil?? Btw, I do not have a ph tester, is it necessary?? I am using fox farm soil happy frog for my new seedling and was wondering how often I should water?

Letting your tapwater sit out doesn't have anything to do with pH. It simply helps the chlorine dissipate. A pH tester is one of the best investments you can make IMO. Over and under watering are the most common mistakes made by newb growers along with pH issues. You should water when the top inch or 2 of the soil dries out.

i think leaving water out brings the ph of the water up a little so if your water is 7.3 it might bring it up to 7.5
not to sure id like some1 else opinion tho

My ph doesn't seem to change at all when I let it sit, however the chlorine smell does go away. Also, you might want to make sure your city uses chlorine. I know some use ummmmm chloramide ( I think that's what it's called ) which does not evaporate.

so it sounds like ph up and down is a must. Can someone give me a good brand? Also, can someone recommend a ph tester?

Hey not trying to hijack your thread but since we're on the topic: are you using soil? If so potted already? (meaning you couldn't mix something into the soil cause it has root)

I'm looking to increase my ph as well by mixing with my water? A little fuzzy on how this is done if you even can. I have seen liquid ph up you can get at lowes.

EDIT: I apologize for not seeing/reading this earlier... maybe helpfull for anyone else in the same situation. Testing and fixing soil ph: http://www.rollitup.org/view.php?pg=...article&id=132
