Question Woody stems? Im confused....

So i had all my mothers in soil and all the stems were soft and green. Well not really soft but not woody. they were just firm enough. Now ive changed everything over to hydro and have the mothers in 4x4x4 rockwool. The stems on them now are super HARD and WOODY. im confused and dont understand why. im also wondering if they will be harder to clone? i havent began cloning yet and will be in another week or so.... any ideas????????

they all do that so that they can hold their own weight up and so on its nothing to worry about seriously so just chill and enjoy and it wont bother the cloning thing not 1 bit

probaly the starting of a heathy plant good stalk thats usally a good thing
