Wats up everyone..so this is my first real attempt at a grow..im tryin to grow a lot of small plants..maybe veg for like a month then flower. So right now in my big pots i have 7 plants that are 2 weeks old and i have 14 in cups that sprouted a few days ago. its mostly bagseed with a few northern lights and some purp haze. I got a 250w MH and a 250w HPS over them and heres my issue...

A few of the plants have leaves that are starting to curl up..like in the pic..thats the worst one..and turning kind of spotty yellow in the middle of the leaf. Is this from too much light at this age? are they too close to the light? I did the hand test n it seems a good distance. my temps are about 75 with 2 big fans runnin all the time, so i dont think it can be the heat. nute deficiency? they were transplanted 5 days ago from cups. check out the pics n lemme know wat u all think.

btw how i have the plants arranged under one light like that spread out.. i turned off the MH light n moved them to see if it made a difference gettin less light..lemme kno if im wrong in doin this. i had all the small cups directly under the MH light (n they all looked good) which is the one thats off in the pic n just moved em all under the 250W HPS

high! good luck with your first time grow.. how big is your grow room? and you should have the light covering the plants more fully with some kind of reflector on the walls. that light is a little insufficient for the amount of plants you have there. another couple questions, what kind of soil are you using and are you giving them nutes yet? suscribed keep us posted

p.s. flowering at 30 days veg will result in some fairly large plants

hey thanks a lot for the replies...the room is probably about 8x4x5 roughly...but the plants are all on one half of it. im plannin on puttin mylar up 2morro..im using general hydroponics 'just right' soil. anyways it is pretty dry in there. so is humidity the reason the leaves are curling like that? i leave my lights on 24/7 should i go 18/6 n mist with the lights off? i gave them a very low dose of some nutes, i thought they had deficiency..prolly wrong. also, ur saying i should turn my mh back on n put them under it again?

also vegging a month is a long time? got a lot of questions i kno haha but i just wanna get this shit righttt, i wanna get a decent amount of bud by the end of december.

yeah mylar would help alot. and try to center the light above the plants(so the output will be evenly distributed). metal halide lights are better for vegatative growth; hps lights are better for flowering.
A month is about average veg time and if you are trying to go on the shorter side i believe you should veg for more like 20 days IMO.
I recommend getting a hygrometer to read humidity (should be around 50%). you can buy one for cheap at this link and it also serves as a thermometer. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...#ProductDetail
and you shouldnt be feeding the puppies nutes just yet. Also how often are you watering your plants?

I suggest you go buy 2 4ft fluoresent light fixtures from walmart and a 6500k bulb and the aqua plant bulb for 15 bucks per fixture. 20 buck for all 4 lights. Put 1 of each bulb in each fixture. And use MG moisture control potting mix for newbs . Dont use the hps light until they are ready to flower. Why ?? Hps lights will cause your plant to stretch. In the early stages of vegging you want your nodes close together. Thats why I would use fluorescents untill u are ready to flower. And it will save you money on your electric bill. Heres a pic of my plants growing this way.

im watering my plants every 2-3 days, i rearranged them under both lights again, can i spray the plants with the lights on? i feel like it will burn the leaves. check out these pics..r my seedlings stretch armstrongs? lol im about to transplant them 2d n does the size of the plants look good for 2 wks vegging? the pic of the one plant is one of my better looking ones right now :/...they all have something fucked up about them but they still grow everyday..some of the leaves are slightly curled, some have a little yellow, some have little tan tips, idk wtf the problem is but i wanna stay with the hid's until i clone them then i ll buy the fluorescnets for the clones n put them somewhere else cuz the room gets cold without the hid's on...

no DONT spray with lights on. the mist will make them go BOOM! and its not the watering then.. it might be the nutes but try cutting the hours to 18/6 and mist with the lights OFF. and yes they do look like they're streching as i can see they are kinda tilting. a plant should be about 8 inches 2 weeks into veg

yes never spray in the dark mold problems and who ever it was said 50%humidity is wrong 30 to 40 will give u more sugar and yes thats why the leaves turn up thats why i mentioned to you about your humidiity but before u spray raise lights no water on lights kaboom and try to do it just as lights are coming on and keep the mist fine no water drops on leaves acts as a magnifier and burns leaves
