Is the only way to tell if they are male/female to put them on 12/12?

or wait til they show preflowers
or take a clone and put it in flower
or use a fem seed

here is the best pic I could find for ya. The one on the left is a male, and the one on the right is a Female. Hope that helps to clear it out. BTW, what you are looking at in the pic you posted is what is known as growth scars.

i believe they r called stipules(leaf spurs)

I seriously do appreciate the help guys. This has cleared alot of things up for me. I just put my plants on 12/12 last night. I will post pictures when they begin to show.

once you see these balls we speak of, you will know. wait a while and it will become clear to ya. the male plant has a number of small pollen sacs which grow kind of in a bud shape, theyre very small at first but will get bigger quickly, and once your sure of the sex, you've got to get rid of the males quickly
