KP, hit me up. I've got 12v adapters rated at 4.6 amps with thick wires. Or, I could tell you how to do it with a computer power supply (12v,5v,3v all in one!). However, the computer power supplies can use 500watts of power

fdd, this is a blower fan, like the daytons; they don't sell them at wally. also, lowes, hd, radioshak, and wally didn't have 12v power supply's that were strong enough.

i don't have any hamsters, but there are a few racoons that frequent the yard, perhaps i could coax them in?

thanx guys, you're great! i love you all

kp... excuse me.. but... do you need a fan? cause I bet there is a garage sale.. no wait.. 10,000 garage sales in the south tomorrow and you can get a fan for a few bucks..

maybe you could trade a small nug for 5-10 fans..

just a thought...

and if it is super hot, you can wear your daisy dukes and get the price down to 50 cent...

Cool 12v 3AMP
here is a idea grab a old computer power supply and then splice in to the yellow and black wire on one of the 12volt hard drive power connectors or go buy a cheap $20 computer power supply. they regulate AMPS and so on and can handle up to i think 24 to 36 amps or more on 1 rale. i use my power supply's for lots of things like cell phone car chargers when i dont have a wall socket battery charger for small moped battery's fans and so on

P.S a computer power supply has 12V/5V/36v/ and then some hehe

also here is a link incase you are going to use a atx power supply Test ATX Power Supply

Why use up to 500 watts to power a fan? Switching AT power supplies are easy. ATX power supplies require jumping a few wires at the mobo connector. They all still get warm and will burn out quickly. Personally, I'd rather use a 70 watt power adapter with no moving parts (internal fans) to wear out, and use the other 430 watts for lighting. Not to mention that computer power supplies are not sealed and are susceptible to splashed water.

Computer power supplies push 12v/5v/3v. There's nothing in a computer that could utilize 36v, not to mention the "and then some" voltage rating. Personally, I'd be afraid of a power supply that pushed 36 volts. That's equivalent to 3 car batteries wired in tandem. Scary shit man.
