the plant uses the leaves to absorb light and make food..and draw carbs..as long as there not brown and shrivvled leave them

In my opinion if leaves are not getting any light and are starting to dry and turn brown ill cut it off i have never noticed any stress or decrease in growth don't go crazy though. If a leaf is healthy green and getting light it is more surface area for it to absorb light and create energy
