Its enough water for 2 days.

My nute schedule is setup to alternate days like so:

Feed,Nothing,Water,Nothing,Feed,Nothing,Water... and so on.

Young clones get half strength 5-10

Then I work up to full strength 5-10 lucas, and when they get big enough I use 8-16 lucas formula
How big of a plant can I grow if I do like you and use 2 liter pots? Sounds great and I could really save some space. I always veg my plants for 2-3 weeks from seed before putting em in to flower.. Would a 2 liter pot be able to sustain this?

Its a mistake to try and flower from seed.

Even with 3 weeks of vegg time you will not have the same yield as if you started with clones.

See any seedling that is younger then 2 months is Immature and does not have appropriate hormone levels for flowering.

Flowering from immature young plants can be done, but it will take Longer then clones and you will get less of a yield.

It is a very inefficient way of growing.

Now if you put a Clone in that 2 liter hempy and vegged for two/three weeks you would be have a great specimen for flowering.

A general rule of thumb is that the clone will stretch 3 times its starting size. More or less, depending upon your genetics, light, ect.

For Example: Veg it till 6 inches and it will be 18 @ harvest.

xare i agree with what your saying about flowering from seed, and clone is way way better. but i think the trippling in height is a big stretch, i know sativas can triple, but from my experience my indicas might only just double, and if they have been toped not long before flower thn id be lucky to get a 50% increase in height...

Hempy growin with Perlite/Vermiculite.

My biggest gripe with growing in this medium/style so far has been the nuisance of overwatering. About the only thing you can do to correct this is to tilt the bucket and drain as much of the res as possible and wait for the medium to dry on its own. Uncover if you cover the tops and raise room temps. air movement across the bucket tops helps.

Increasing air circulation evenly all around the root zone dries out this medium much, much, faster....which is excellent for more frequent feedings and flushing.

Im using a 75% perlite/ 25% vermiculite mixture and it tends to hold nutrients that build up if continuous feedings take place. Ive had the best results feeding moderate nutes every third watering. If you notice burnt tips appearing continue to feed just plain ph'd water until satisfactory. If it gets worse with each water feeding it may be necessary to flush. Overwatering can lead to curling, crimpled, yellowing leaves, and stunted growth. DIY fabric pots are my solution to preventing this problem.

HEMPY 2gal ENHANCEMENT: "cheeze" your 2 gal by drilling a crap load of holes evenly around. use the fabric pot to contain the medium and insert it in the new and improved 2 gal hempy holder bucket. it will provide space between fabric pot and bucket allowing evaporation evenly all around. MAKE SURE YOUR LOWEST HOLE IS STILL 2" ABOVE THE BOTTOM OF CONTAINER.

i have experienced no overwatering so far with this method.

to make the DIY Fabric Pots:

get a roll of weed preventer fabric. i gotta big azz roll for 15 bucks. I think you can probably make 30+ 2 gal pots from one roll. You can make any size you need and the bigger the pot the easier it is to sew. yep...sew. its super easy with cheapo sewing machine.

Cut 8.5" circles and 27" x 8.5" rectangles. sew the rectangle into a loop and then pin the circle to the loop and sew again. done. fits perfectly in 2 gal.

This is what a 2 liter hempy SOG clone looks like at harvest time.

Hey guys, glad to see this thread is back. I could use some help from the hempy masters here....I cannot figure out whats up with my plants. It looks like nitrogren but after switching from lucas to REVERSE lucas (10micro 5 bloom in veg), it still isn't resolved so I guess it's something else. Watering in this cycle : full feed, skip a day, light feed, skip a day, water.....etc. Help me out please guys!

LINK --------> Yellowing on top leaves in veg.... <----------

(you can see the progression of my problem as i kept updating the thread.....)

In addition, have a couple questions that I haven't seen definitively answered:

  • Do you need to pH plain RO water? Some people say as long as it has no nutes in it, the ro water will automatically assume the pH of the medium. True? (obviously water+ nutes is adjusted for ph)
  • Full feed - Light feed - Water? Water - Feed - Water - Feed? Water - Water - Feed? What seems to work the best for you guys?
  • GH, lucas formula nutes....is anything else needed? I'm worried my problem might be mag after I saw another poster stating that he always supplemented his lucas-formula buckets with Cal-Mag...
  • How often do you need to flush in VEG?

And to contribute something....when constructing your buckets, I've found the easiest way to make nice holes is with a shitty sautering iron. Cuts through plastic like butta

I am trying to keep it simple..... My sytem is to water on Wednesday and then feed on Saturday. I am using 75% perlite and 25% vermiculite in 5 gal Homer buckets. Seems to be working well.

Default Switched totally Hempy
Okay, here are my Fem Dutch Passion WW. Some pics in veg that are all WW and some flowering that were a test for growing hempy style. I hope to get my first WW into flowering in about 2 weeks when 2 of the others finish in the flowering room. With the exception of the 2 shots in flower, they are all WW. I am growing them all hempy style starting out in Cups (trying some plastic and some styrofoam) then moving to Coffe Cans and finally into 5 gal homer buckets for flowering. It has been a long road, and I couldn't have done it without the WW thread and the Hempy Collective thread. I have 2 mothers in soil not pictured here.
