Well, I have the hygrozyme in and so far so good.
I am going to run just water and it @ 8ml per gallon for 1 day, then add nutes monday.

Over 24 hours it raised the ph by .8. I can control that. I will keep updating as this goes. I hope it helps someone else.

Well, 3 days in and all is well.
I changed it out every other night. Tonight I added nutes at 1/4 strength. And will change the tank out again and go to half strength come the weekend.
The water smells much better, and the plants seem to be smelling more... Or maybe I can just smell them easier.<g>

I also use Hygrozyme but along side with an algaecide prescribed for aquarium plants. I use that at a rate of about 1 ml per 10 gallons...haven't had any problems.
Maybe I am wrong but maybe Hygrozyme isn't "pythium in a bottle" because of a bad batch but rather other problems may have existed such as water over 70 degrees...and so on. For me no problem.
Hope all goes well for you.

I can def. say that everything looks better, and that is with only putting it in 4 days ago. I can say I will continue to use it.
The agleacide I have been afraid to use. Everything I see makes me think that it wil either hurt the plant, or me when I consume it. Do you know the name of the type you use?
Thankx for the input.

i think you misunderstand.... HYGROZYME made a bad batch, i didn't have a "bad batch" of clones. i was all aero, for a LONG time, with no problems.... UNTIL i added hygrozyme.
most people love it.... they hydro shop guy said they had a bad batch shipped out all over the country and no recall..... 2+2 is how much?

2 + 2 = 4.. We are not here for math.
We all have problems with our grows from time to time. Everyone just relax.. We can all add 2+2.

My ph is still rising about .6 is 25 hours, but I adjust and keep going. I know I needed it, so there is probibly alot of build up to be broken down. I can tell you that there has been no sudden down turn, and to me it looks like I am getting a nice flash of fresh white hairs.

your plants could easily make your ph change that much in 24 hrs its no big deal. sounds like your doin good. Hygrozyme helped my plants to avoid root rot. 1 was starting to get it and I used that and it started going away. but keeping the water between 62-70 is more important and benificial than hygrozyme. but it does work helps keep the bad stuff at bay and the good stuff growing

SM-90 vs hygrozyme: Love them both
Hey guys,
I had a terrible case of pythium (caused by a case of over loving with nutes) and after my favorite baby died I ran to the hydro store and picked up hygrozyme & SM-90. After reading countless threads on the possibility of algae production, the first couple of gallons I used to flush were only SM-90 which kills everything off and then the following 6 gallons had hygrozyme mixed in with it.
I crossed my fingers after being told that there was nothing that could save them. Two weeks later the growth stunt has been broken and they are over 3 feet tall.
Due to the severity of the situation I did not risk using each product independently. SM-90 is also killer for bugs because it gives you an alternative to pyrethrum. However, I'm sure some old timers would have a better idea crop after crop of the effects? This was just my experience with it, but I'm impressed =) Oh.. I'm in soil, 400 MH for veg and 400 HPS for flower, 3 gallon pots and I don't know how this applies to hydroponics.
Peace.
