I accidentally broke one of the large arms on my plant, it split but didn't break off completely. This was when it was approaching the 8 ft mark and I was getting really worried about the neighnbors, so I tried to bend the plant and was gonna stake it so it didn't stick up so high, but the plant was too far along and the stalk too solid. All I ended up doing was damaging that one arm. I tied it up with garden twine to the stalk and man it healed right up. And that arm put out a bunch of buds! This is a hardy species.
