Default milk jugs

milk containers contain someting in the plastic to block uv rays. does this mean that it is ok to use a milk jug as a pot for my pot? will the roots grow algae even if the container blocks uv rays?

Would cover the outsides of the milk jugs with paper or something, just to be on the safe side mate.

Agreed. You want something opaque so your roots don't get exposed to light.
