Clones under 1000w HPS. help

I agree none of the responses above really answer you what your asking. I would think that after about 3 weeks or a week after roots have started to come out they should be be fine. Especially since you already have them under the 1000w indirectly. Just slowly over a week or so start moving them more and more into the direct light. Since you have 17 of them, why don't you just wait until you have the roots and then pull one from under the shade and put it in direct light. If it doesn't die after a couple days then you should have no problems. This is all just my opinion though. I don't think there is a real answer, just guesses.

thanks for the advice dude, i was already thinking after 3 weeks they just be fully rooted, i will i will also do what u suggested...In like a week or 2 put them in the light a little everyday and after 3 weeks or so keep them their. And maybe along the way use one for a guinene pig in some kind of way...all in the name of science, of course + rep

i use cfl to root and no hps untill you see new growth.... when they start to grow is the answer... a lot of ppl to tell y you havent gotten a correct answer but they don't answer either whats with that

Newly cut clones is best to not have hps light on at all. A simple shop light T8 florescents will work perfect with no worry of stressing them. They should be in a humidity dome unless they are in an aero cloner. in rockwool or rapid rooter in a dome as the temps need to be kept up and hig humidity. They should root in 5-12 days depending on how you care for them. Then they can stay under the florescent for another week or 2 is fine and will grow great. Then they can go under the mh or if none then 24 hours of hps light. The florescent light costs about $12 with bulbs the 4 foot kind. Set it right on top of the dome and open dome twice a day for 10 minutes and remist. leave the florescent light on 24 hours a day. The clones will wilt keep thier rockwool or cubes moist but not soaked as soaked slows the rooting process down

Plants are on the floor for two reasons. Your light is way too powerful and your root temperature is too high.

Your plants should be under 5-8 thousand lumes; that means CFL's. Having your plants behind another plant that is giving it shade next to the hot dog guy at Dodgers Stadium is not the same as having a clone under 5-8 thousand lumes (and three to four feet away).

The temperature of your roots should be between 68 and 75 degrees. I prefer 72 to 72.5. This is incredibly important. Not 78, not 75.5 but 72.

It took me three weeks to figure all this out. If there was a mistake to be made then I made it. The faster you make these two corrections the faster your clones will root and the faster you will reach your end goal.
