| | People say flush two weeks before harvest.... | | But how would you know when that is? All strains are different and even some strains have 7-11 week flower periods. I suppose with some strains, especially if you have experience with them, will be ready eight weeks after the first signs of flower, for example. But how would you know from looking at your trich development that you're a couple weeks away from harvest? Knowing that seems like it takes a lot of experience generally and with a specific strain.
But let me ask it another way. From the time you see your trichs are all pretty much cloudy/milky, how long does it usually take them to turn 25-50% amber? I would bet there's a general answer for Sativas vs Indicas but within those categories I suppose it's different for each strain and phenotypes that express themselves too.
Any thoughts from your experiences would be appreciated. It will help me know when I should think about flushing and preparing to harvest.
Thanks. |

| | Hi Virgin.... I can't answer your exact question... BUT.... After growing a strain once it is very obvious just by looking at the plant when it is 2 weeks from harvest.... the fan leaves, the hairs, bud development and crystal density will be consistent with the previous grow.... with some exceptions when switching from seeded plant to clones...
That being said.... When growing soil I never flush and when growing hydro or aeroponics I flush for 2-5 days...

| | Garden Knowm,
Do you grow in organics? Is two days even enough to remove all those nuts? I have been for flushing 1 week, and thinking I was cutting it close. |

I don't think most people flush... Many people say that flushing effects flavor and "burn" quailty..... I have heard people say that plants that are NOT FLUSHED burn a bit harsher... |

And it depends entirely on how good you were in getting your nutrient feeds right. If you've over-fertilised it or left residual nutrients in the plant and soil, no amount of drying aand curing will improve the taste. And if you were growing with chemical nutrients, rather than organic - good luck. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
