Default Reducing noise for a 4" inline fan?

hello all i was wondering if anyone had any input on reducing noise on an 4" inline fan. I seen neoprene lined noise reduction clamps..Anyone ever use these and do they work?? Any input on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

Don't have any input about the clamps, but take a look at this thread for lots of good ideas on reducing fan noise: Quiet. The Neighbors Can Hear You (Sound Control Thread)

Is it the fan itself thats noisy, or is it rattling something in the grow area its attached to?

One trick I've seen is to take a coleman cooler and cut out your holes and put your fan inside it.

If you've got it screwed onto the wall, I've read somewhere else that you could buy a peice of rubber and place it between the inline fan and the studs you screw it into.

Hang it using rubber bungee cords reduces vibrations. If you buy another buy an S & P fan. I hear nothing...only the room fan blowing on plants.....

Oh, and the 150 model s and p is powerful enough to vent 2 areas (one with air cooled reflector) using a Y including carbon filter on the ends using the low speed. Glad I did research.....

If not S&P the best fix to quiet a 4" fan is replace it with a 6 or 8 running slower.

No I didn't say that just to be a smart ass either, that's if you want serious noise reduction, otherwise you aren't going to make that much of a difference doing anything else.
