I was wondering, if I'm not trying to grow the best, or even that good of bud, what's the quickest you can force your plant into flowering? 6 weeks?

So you could flower weed after 4 weeks if you wanted lol?!

The ideal time to flower is when your plant is around 12" high. This could well be after 4 weeks. I started flowering at 24 days.

If you're starting with a clone you can start as Vi' said, as soon as it shows root. I put a clone 1" high and barely showing root straight into flower... don't know what's going to happen yet. I'm imagining ending up with a short stocky plant full of bud. The last bit may be more of a fantasy but we'll see.

Growers who use the Sea of Green (SOG) technique start flowering as early as possible ... even a couple of inches tall. The ideas is to grow many plants, say 99 plants, in single columns ... just one cola per plant that produces a quarter to half ounce each.

What size pots are we talking here Vi? Also how much light (for the 99 plants), in terms of wattage?

I veg for 7-14 days and then start flowering. under a 1000w hid hps is a 4'x4' ebb&flo tray with 40 plants.

The cola is the tip of the bud.

just really depends on your setup, you could trip them when they're 2 inches high if you wanted.
