So... i have a rabbit and i searched google to find out if its poop would make good fertilizer and apparently it really does. Has anyone tried this before with their reefer? Does anyone know what the % of N P K are in it? i would sure love to hear if someone has had success with it as i have an avaible and unlimited source! Thanks ahead of time!

Looks a bit silly with all the cartoony pictures, but theres a chart further down the page. It says rabbit manure is 2.4-1.4-0.6. I doubt your rabbits make enough to make it usable as the sole fertiliser, but it'd certainly help. Mix in some potassium source, eg potassium sulfate (sulphate of potash) and youll have a nice balance for the veg stage Last edited by YourUsernameHere; 08-10-2009 at 05:56 PM.. |

i wouldnt use it solely anyhow but you would be very suprised at how much a rabbit poops! we used to have two of them but one died... may he rest in peace. i think that we are on to something here... it seems taht it will make good fertilzer and from what i have read it doesnt have to be composted and is not "hot" so it can be added as close to the plants as desired and directly in the soil, i have also read that you can make a "tea" out of it and use that as well! looks like i just found a free nute source in my own home!! gotta love pets... i will use this when i start my new grow and let everyone know how it works!!

I had rabbits for awhile, and I'm reminded of how damp the litter box and cages were from urine. Generally urine is highly acidic. Make sure to check what it does to your ph.

actually ive been reading that rabbit poop doesnt have to be composted... it can be put directly into the soil without composting, it is not "hot" at all. this is why i am so excited i dont have to do anything but put it in my soil!
ps please read above posts before posting... i have already said this haha |

you are right about it possibly burning the plant roots but if you put it directly in the soil and use it as a mulch then you are probly using entirely too much anyhow but rabbit manure is not described anywhere as a"hot" manure and really DOESNT need composting, im not saying that it is a bad idea, its always a good idea to compost but it is safe to add directly to soils in limited quantities. note that rabbit manure contains alot of phosphorous which is good for flowering... this is exactly why i will be using in my soil. thank you jerry the bunny for the wonderful new ingredient in my grow!
check this article out, it twlls you which manures are hot and which arent, also if you search google about whether or not it may be put directly in soils and gardens all the articles that i can find say it is totally safe to do so, i however WILL be diluting it in a "tea" so that my plants will be able to use it faster and so that i am safe just in case there is unforseen issues that i havent discovered. i will definitely keep everyone posted on this as i begin my new grow (approx. 2 weeks from now) thanks! http://www.plantea.com/manure.htm |

I wouldn't tbh... bit unhygenic and dont want the groom smelling of rabbit shit or rabbit hutch.
Buy bat guano, no smell, cheap, organic and does the job. |
