Default Plant Height Question

If i have only 5ft of clearance from the top of my bubbleponics system to the hps lamp in my flowering room, about how high should i let my plants get before i stick them into the flowering room. The strain is big bud and ill be flowering 4 plants in the room with a 600w hps. I just dont want them to go crazy with verticle growth and get burned, plenty of room for stretching out though.

welcome to the forum. YOu can get that light about a foot above the plants as they mature so you have foour feet of usable space. Seems to me big bud is usually used cause its short, I've never grown it. I could be wrong about that. VV
