Exclamation Hot temps=low yeild?
So i have a great question that needs to be answered, which may be followed by a few more Q's thereafter...

Q- I live in one of the hotter states, but grow inside... although the A/C isn't on 24/7 it is roughly off for about 10 hours during the hottest part of the day to save energy.. Temperatures have gotten as high as 106 in my box but consistently around 90+ when the Unit is off... will this significantly reduce my yield??

Here are a few pictures, my girls are roughly seven weeks old, they were burned badly in the second week of growing due to bad MH light placement but are recovering well...

any answers, comments, questions are greatly appreciated.. I NEED HELP!

(as you can see the bottom leaves had some heat stress issues, there were even worse ones but they are long gone and cut off)

I would recommend grow sativa dominate strains as they are from around the equator so they are more adapt to higher temps.

In general yes higher temps will negatively affect your yield.

Papaya.. -is the fruit of choice..It is Indica Dominant
>>The Temp is consistantly around 75-78 degrees, with some good fan distribution.. but does ranch from the high 80's to lower 90's. . .
>>>The Area has been re-constructed to me more ciculative

* im thinking about low-stress-training as well seeing as Papaya stays short and dense, making it very suitable for a "Sea of Green" garden

Any comments on or recommendations??

P.S. and how does it look to you? I'm thinking about flowing it after week eight, even though its just peaking at about 8 inches right now..

Thats great to know, thanks for your constructive responses..
>>i was Wondering, is 8 inches too low to start flowing? i have around four feet in height to work with, and my girl is at week seven right now...
So i was thinking i'd let her grow a few more nodes, she has about sixteen larger branches right now, and is a very bushy plant

So i was just looking for a little advice on when to flower this girl(Note The pictures)

Also i was wondering if week 7 is too late to be doing LST to the plant, what do you guys think.. counterproductive at this point? Seeing as i still want the plant to get a little bigger/bushy... HELP fellow GREENthumbs!
p.s. I've been watering the foliage quite frequently, when the temps are cool and the lights are just firing up, will this speed growth/helpo the final yeild???

hello,

yes you can lst at week seven, you can top it, super crop it or do what ever you like. you can also flower it it you would like, but if you have the space i would let it get bigger. foliar spray is fine up until a couple weeks of flower, then it can rot your buds. are you using nutes in your foliar spray? or just straight water? are you nuteing them at all?

hope this helps a lil

sorry but i have to disagree. before i got AC hooked up in my flower room i was exhausting the air almost 3 times a minute. but when the air you're pulling in is 90+ it can only do so much.

after i switched to an AC box i noticed substantial increases in growth.
