Thumbs up I found this link

    http://michaelbluejay.com/electricity/howmuch.html

this link allows you to put in a 100 watt light, and how many hours you plan on using it. it lets you select the state that your living in (states vary for kw/hr rate) then the rest is done by itself hope this helps yall

The best way to keep new costs down is to lower your house draw before hand. Here are a few things I do to help offset costs. I originally switched all my standard 60-75 watt bulbs to 13 watt and 23 watt cfls that cut my bill by more then half. Now unplug any item not in use or that could be on standby as it uses just as much electric in standby as in use . nowGet good window curtains nice and thick these hold cold air or hot air in so the ac or heater and blower dont run as much.Turn off lights unless needed. On electric water heaters turn the temp down 10 degrees. I now have since replaced my cfls with LED 1.5 and 4 watt bulbs so that cut my light usage by 3/4. If i run typical setups lets say with a veg room and then flower areas running maybe 2 600 watts in 1 area 1 1000 watt in another and then 2 sepearte 600 watt areas and my ac and usual houise hold stuff my monthly bill is about $120 a month. If i run 1 veg room and just 2 600 watters my bill is about $40 a month during the summer. I have figured it down as this for a 24 hour on cycle a 400 watter adds about $12 a month a 600 watt light adds about $18 a month and a 1000 watter about $35 a month. this assumes no flux in electric due to a long hot period and I stick to my low power usage and all digital ballast. Now i found runninjg opld magnetic ballast on 24 hours it was more like 400 watts was about $20 a month 600 watter was about $30 and a 1000 watter was about $45 a month.I like to keep my bill at about $100-150- a month with 3-5 grow spots per location

I'm sure the pound of weed you get from a 400W HPS would make up for the electricity bill.
