    Default males, females & hermaphrodite

Can someone shed some light on this. I know what a male is. I know what a female is. In theory I know what a hermaphrodite is. But what makes a hermaphrodite? Is a bud with male flowers a hermaphrodite? Is hermaphrodite bud less potent then straight up female bud? If I find seeds in my bud does that make it hermaphrodite bud? Do seeds from a bud only grow to become hermaphrodite?

. A hermaphrodite will have pistils(hairs like female) and pollen sacks(lime green balls like male), on any node you may have hairs, pollen sacks, or a combination. Either way, with a hermaphrodite, you will wind up with bud that has seeds in it. It will have pollinated itself, and by this, the seeds that you retrieve from the bud will have a 90% female rate. Hermaphrodite bud or, bud with seeds, will be less potent then bud with no seeds. The plant will use energy to produce seeds instead of piloting all energy in to THC production(which gets you high). I've personally never found a pollen sack in a bag a bud I bought. and if I have, it looked just like the rest of the shake and leaves in the bottom of the bag that fell off the bud

    What is a Hermaphrodite plant?

An hermaphrodite, or hermie, is a marijuana plant of one sex that develops the sexual organs of the other sex. Most commonly, a flowering female marijuana plant will develop staminate flowers, though the reverse is also true. Primarily male hermaphrodites are not as well recognized only because few growers let their males reach a point of flowering where the pistillate would be expressed.
Hermaphrodites are generally viewed with disfavor. First, they will release pollen and ruin a sinsemelia crop, pollinating themselves and all of the other females in the room. Second, the resulting seeds are worthless, because hermaphrodite parents tend to pass on the tendency to their offspring.

Please note that occassionally specious staminate flowers will appear in the last days of flowering of a female marijuana plant. These do not drop pollen and their appearance is not considered evidence of deleterious hermaphroditism.
