Lightbulb Acoustic Ducting....worth the money?????
Hi, I am getting a bit paranoid about my fan noise,i noticed it for the first time the other night,i couldn't hear it before, mind you i am out of bud at the moment, and the first night i heard it was my first night cold turkey lol,but now i am hearing it all the time so i was thinking of investing in some acoustic ducting to lower the noise, right now i am using regular ducting i "found" on a construction site, does it work or is it a waste of time????:joint

It works for the air flow noise that you hear along the ducting run but it doesn't make the exhaust port quieter or the fan any quieter. The way to reduce fan noise either acustic or vibration is to use a bigger fan that runs at a lower speed, and to reduce the exhaust port you can put a scilencer on it.

look here for info

http://www.acousticalsurfaces.com/hv...silen.htm?d=26

Im sure you could construct one from this info, if not look at the growshops online, most of them selling fans ducting and the accessories such a scilencers.

But your right, your prob being worried for nothing but you know the saying:-

-: Better safe than sorry.

PS:- Sorry you lost to rot, thats a shit.

Nice one,i have seen them at work and never knew what they were i guess they will be
missing one tomorrow lol!!Do the affect fan performance in any way!!!!
Rot is a bastard,i checked them and one bud had it,i removed it next day more had it
i was growing powerplant and blueberry all the power plant got it yet the blue survived unscathed,
think it;s the denser bud on the blue that saved them!!!

Safe than sorry is good and i have nosey neighbours!!!

You may get a small drop in pressure but if your fan is any good it wont affect it. Long duct runs round corners going up down and everywhere is the worst thing for killing your pressure.
Try and keep low humidity when flowering to stop the rot, around 30%. A dehumidifier is always a good investment if your having problems.

All the best and happy blazing
