Well i have decided to try and grow some big bud beings it sounded like a pretty easy strain to go with for a first time grower, but ive read alot of negative stuff about it on different forums and im not gonna let that discourage me beings ive had some pretty good schooling from good oll rollitup.org heh, but figured id see if any of you vets have had any experiance with this strain that might have any good or bad opinions. If any of you have any pics that would be great, but im mostly just looking for your opinions on this strain.
Thanks peeps |

I love big bud if you want to produce this is your strain. It's not as toxic as W.Widow, Hog, or other killers but it gets you where you want to go. If you want buds the size of soda cans this is the strain.
If you look in my gallery you can find a pic or two of some big bud. Its my every day smoke,

You only see neg reviews with people that didn't grew it correctly or didn't grow it to its full potential. I knew of a grower who grew big bud and it was just as good as other popular strains. Hell he even passed it out to his smoker buddies claiming that it was white widow and it passed. The strain helps but its you that brings out the plant full potential.

See, the thing is, your definition of a "good strain" is dependant on A) your situation (grow room size, odor control, temperature, ventilation etc.), B) your "weed tastebuds" (what you like your weed to smell and tastelike, bag appeal, etc) C) what is a more important trait, awesome yield or awesome quality.
Most people try to be pretentious "weed snobs" and say it's all about quality. It's just flat out not all about quality. The potency of the weed in my opinion is not the determining factor. The yield is not the only determining factor either, but some plants sacrifice so much in yield although they are fantastic, they are poor producers and in my opinion a waste of time. On the other hand, some plants produce a shit ton of worthless bud. This is VERY few and far between. Lowyrder is that way, but they've now crossed it so many ways you can get a lowryder that isn't completely worthless. Most of the garbage, low potency weed you get isn't strain related. It's not even usually a direct cause of the plants growth being poor. If the plant grew the buds it was grown okay. It's generally the harvest, drying and curing that went terribly wrong. If you grow Big Bud properly and you harvest, dry and cure the bud properly it will produce ample potency bud and LOTS of it. You will get more overall THC out of your crop than you will by going higher potency lower producers. It's also a forgiving strain and should be fairly straightforward to grow. So my overall review of Big Bud: High Yield and Production Medium to Medium-High potency (Medium-High if you're lucky, do everything right and happen upon a real strong plant). Easy to Grow Can be unwieldy if you are growing in a small space. For your next grow, try to consider these factors when choosing a strain.

Thanks for the info laser, as of now i have a 5'x5'x8' closet im using to veg my plants and i built my own flower room which is5'x5'x8' also so space shouldnt be a problem.
For vegging im using a 4 plant drip system and im using 6 30w 6400k cfl's which so far seem to be doing there job very well. For flowering im using a 4 plant bubble ponics system and ill be using a 600w hps. Both rooms have 2 fans each and i ran flex duct through the seiling and up through the chimney to vent them. I seen alot of people using flora nutes and they seemed to work well so i chose flora for my nutes and it seems to work great. Ill be starting a journal soon so i can keep getting opinions from you guys. Thanks again everyone |
