2/3 loss, maybe more, maybe less
doesn't matter, it's the moisture you're focusing on with the cure, or so i've been led to believe.

25-75%, varies a lot from plant to plant and grow to grow. I think that larger buds will lose more of their weight because they store more water. A little air in the jar is no prob, bob. A little moisture is a prob though.

I take my total wet weight and subtract 77% and its always turned out perfect.
That number is my number due to the way I trim, dry and cure. It will differ, not by a whole lot, but depending on how you trim, how much stem you leave etc...

77 PERCENT?? Holy shit! I had no idea it lost so much weight when drying!! That means an ounce yeild wet, could possibly only give less than a quarter dry? Wow. I'm saddened by this.

Its usually about 1/4 of the wet weight for me. The last harvest had a wet weight of just over 24lbs and the dry weight came in at 6.1lbs. That sounds very close to what boneman said.

That is about 72% for you bba.
Like I said, the 77% is probably that number because of the way I trim and amount of stem I leave for hanging purposes. I'm sure that number would be lower if I cut off more stem while trimming. Once mine are done drying, I do a final trim before placing into curing jars. I try to get every single bit of stem cut out before curing.
