Folks,
Been doing the honey oil for a long time, don't make the same mistakes that I did.
When making honey oil please use the butane method but add a step.
I use a 18" x 3/4" pvc pipe with two drilled end caps, 2 oz of white widow (trimmed, dried and crushed) buds and 8 oz of lighter grade (triple refined) butane fuel. When the can is empty, set it aside and plug the hole in the top cap (hold your thumb over it) and continue to hold for 2 minutes after the last drop has fallen. Now set the bomb aside with the drain end sloped downward.
Take your collection bowl (or whatever you used) and set it aside for about 6 hours to let most of the butane to evaporate. You should have a dirty,golden sludge. Now using ONLY 190 proof, GRAIN alcohol (NO ISO), pour about 2 caps full into the sludge and use a stainless steel implement to mix the sludge and alcohol together. You will start to see white floaters suspended in the solution and they will start to clump. I use an old fashion eye dropper at this point to transfer the solution into the vials and let them set for a week with the caps off in a cool, dark place to allow most of the alcohol to evaporate off. Now take that same eye dropper and gently draw off the clear liquid and put it back into the same collection bowl. The white stuff left at the bottom of the vial is now almost pure thc.
Time to get back to the tube. Take the top cap off and discard the top half of the pot. You will want to let the bottom half remain because it now contains more thc than what it started with. Refill the top half and repeat the whole thing.
I refill any vial with the fresh and repeat the process until they are full adding empty vials as needed.

The whole thing is a labor of love and respect. The love for the plant and the respect for whoever uses it. Since the thc is very nearly in its' purest form it can be used for smoking or ingestion with no bad karma for anyone.
For all of you using the alcohol extraction method do yourself a big favor and use the grain alcohol instead of iso or anything else. Yes, it is more expensive but it won't have the impurities left by iso which is not good for your body.

It can be solidified in grain or iso alcohol and moved around as a liquid...

you can freeze it and break it/scrape it off

you can dip into it with a paper clip...then heat the clip and have the blob melt off wherever you place it

what kinda mess ya got goin' anyway? Never really had a problem here dealing with the remains...yuk..yuk.

It should say in this thread a few times how im colleting the oil

thats the 1st time ive heard of freezing it and just breaking it of and scraping it seems the best for both collecting and for storing have you tryed this way

I just think its hard to work with the oil when its sticky and a bit annoying lol SUPPOSE U ARE JUST USED TO WORKING WITH STICKY STUFF LOL

I really just wanted to know more and better ways of doing so

i wouldnt be using butane for one thing, if you know what your doing you can make better oil with iso. once i figure out how to post pictures, iam goiong to start a thread on how to make honey

I do mine in a double capped pvc tube and butane I just let it drip out the bottom holes into a cookie sheet then just throw the sheet in the freezer when I wanna smoke a little oil I take a razor and cut my chunk off the cokkie sheet and put it on the bowl. Quick and easy

man... u should of made one of those honey bee extractors. i saw a pic of one and made it in 5 min. if u can return it ill show u a pick of mine and show u how to make it.
