Yeah...i've never tried foliar feeding.
I see people on here that do it though...so i know it's not uncommon.

As a first timmer ill say its a life saver when transplanting or nute/ ph probs. Its a great way to keep them healthy while ya sort ya probs but isnt practical long term.

I just came across this....
Dutch Master Penetator - 1 Liter
Welcome to the most scientifically advanced foliar fertilizer delivery agent ever offered. Dutch Master Penetrator has been specifically engineered on a molecular level to perform as a specialized foliar fertilizer delivery system that can be used with non insecticidal, herbicidal & fungicidal fertilizer applications.

Dutch Master Penetrator is unique in that it can deliver foliar fertilizer ingredients via the leaf with unparalleled efficiency whilst still maintaining leaf system integrity. This makes Penetrator a true foliar fertilizer delivery system.

Penetrator first binds with the cuticle layer that surrounds & protects every leaf, then temporarily alters it, to allow effective transfer of foliar fertilizer elements through this protective layer. This cuticle layer is very important to plants as it protects them from losing excessive moisture through the leaves as well as forming a barrier against fungal, bacterial & viral agents. If this layer is permanently damaged or altered the plant must then rebuild this layer whilst remaining susceptible to attack from these agents and also at risk from localized burning & transpirational shock through excessive moisture loss. Unfortunately the action of many wetting & delivery agents does damage to this cuticle layer which the plant must then rebuild. Penetrator’s unique formulation temporarily alters the permeability of the cuticle layer then restores it upon evaporation without damaging this vitally important layer.

Delivering your foliar fertilizer elements past this cuticle layer is only a battle half won as you then have to deliver your foliar fertilizer elements through the plasma membrane whilst simultaneously maintaining its stability to ensure maximum element transfer.

Penetrator is uniquely engineered to maintain this stability whilst allowing full transfer of foliar fertilizer elements into the plant via the leaf structure. If the stability or the electrical charge of this membrane is not correctly maintained for the full duration of the transfer then only limited amounts of the fertilizer you apply will actually penetrate past this layer. By combining the 2 actions of cuticle permeability & plasma membrane stability, Penetrator can safely & accurately deliver all of your foliar applied fertilizer to your plants. All without the risk of burning & damaging your plants.

Dutch Master Folitech
Folitech Grow and Flower are two unique foliar sprays designed to enhance your plants ability to support and produce larger numbers of flowers than would normally be possible. Folitech is a two stage product with a vegetative and a flowering formulation which are designed to be used at the appropriate stage of the plants development. The underlying technology in both the Folitech formulations is the unique Phospholipid technology developed by Dutch Master's renowned R&D team, which is headed by their Dr of Plant Physiology and Bio Chemistry.
These unique, organic and totally safe compounds are designed to enhance receptor site sensitivity which dictate the way a plant grows or develops through the use of plant actives. These special Phospholipids are not hormones but can help increase receptor site sensitivity beyond normal levels. These receptor sites normally only react with approximately 25% of the actives produced by the plant with the rest being broken down into inactive conjugates.
By increasing the sensitivity of these sites they are able to react with much more of the plant's own actives. Being able to increase receptor site sensitivity is only the start! By using specially constructed variations of these Phospholipids we can actually increase the sensitivity of selected receptor sites thereby controlling which aspects of the plant we wish to accelerate or enhance.
Folitech Vegetative is formulated to increase receptor site sensitivity of only those areas which control plant vegetative growth and branching patterns. The result is a quicker growing plant with more complex branching and tighter internodal spaces. p>
Folitech Flowering is formulated to increase the sensitivity of those receptor sites that are responsible for the flowering process. Larger flowers with increased development are possible when using this product.

this is interesting however i don't think i could justify buying a feed specifically for foliar feeding. God what will they come out with next. This reminds of buying molasses in the form of a plant food. *cough* rip off *cough*

You can go mad with all the stuff..but I've just stuck with a decent nute and cal/mg to add on occasion.......

foliar feeding is best for when a plant is more mature because its alot more difficult of a task to pump nutes threw the system when the plant is bigger so foliar feeding makes it easier for the plant to eat. you still should use watering threw medium as the primary feeding method at all times though.

i've ended up with light burn spots. Not a happy camper when i noticed those
its best to foliar feed right before the lights go out or when they first come on but i recommend when they are about to go off...

Howdy, new guy here but long time experience when it comes to growing. In regards to the Dutch Masters Penetrator I'm going to have to admit that it works. I've foliar feed for a long time. My personal experience is that using Penetrator I've had to cut way back on the strenght of whatever it is I am misting. They have release Penetrator Gold and I've been using that but to be honest I can't tell a huge difference than that of the regular Penetrator. I have noticed a considerable difference with using Penetrator Gold and Liquid Light. I grow one strain that wants nothing to do with either. My other strains really like it and react accordingly. When do I foliar? when using Penetrator, which is always, I usually mist about a hour after the lights come on. I have also misted up to 6 hours after the lights have come on and have noticed no negative response. I don't use the recommended amount of Penetrator it seems each plant has it's "own" amount that it really likes. You kinda got to tinker a little. OH, and whatever you do move the lights back to recommended distance but if you are controlling heat well it's not a major issue. Once applied it is absorbed within minutes. My grows seem to like a fan blown almost directly on them after they have been misted and it has been absorbed.
