Autoflower Thread & Resource Guide

Can one keep the same temperature and humidity from start to finish with AF's? or is it the same as a normal grow? and as anyone used the AutoFem seed bank?

Depends on your point of view.

Since you can't take clones, and roll basically forever, they are pricey. Unless you wanna basically sacrifice a single grow for seed production.
And the ration of M vs F on 10 seeds can weigh in kinda heavy.

so is it safe to say it saves a lot of money buy ordering the feminized autoflower seeds? but then that knocks out the possibility of getting a male to produce more seeds. unless u can use giberellic acid to produce male pollen with the autoflowering plants. i dont know. anyone have any experience with giberellic acid and autoflowering plants? i want to order seeds very soon and im torn over which ones to get. im 100 percent sure i wanna get autoflowering plants. i want ones that dont branch much. my first choice was diesel ryder by the joint doctor but now attitude ran out of those. anyone have any ideas?

I am growing Blue Streak currently. its masterlow x dj shorts blueberry. If i recall properly masterlow is master Kush X Lowryder.

I started 5 seeds 5-16. I killed 2 after transplanting. oops.

of the 3 left, 2 started showing that they are fem today. i have 5 more sprouts to plant tommorow.

Masterlow is Master Kush X lowryder #2.

1.5 months is possible, but with most strains they are ready to harvest at 8-10 weeks. Diesel Ryders have an 8-9 week life cycle from seed to harvest. Also, if you pollinate do so as SOON as possible then throw the male(s) away. If you wait too long the plant will die before the seeds can mature. I pollinated probably 1 week into flowering just because my male wasnt ready yet. I will definitely let as many seeds as possible form before harvesting. You never want to harvest until the seeds are brown, with no green on them or they wont grow.

I did not personally start the Diesel Ryders that Im growing. I recieved them along with a male as a gift from a wonderful friend. He started 10 seeds and ended up with 7 females & 3 males. This was probably a stroke of luck though, as most seeds are about a 50/50 ratio of males to females. He just picked out the 2 best looking females & the best looking male for me.

I have seen pice of these DR strains getting 20+ inches and producing well under high wattage HIDs. The main reason for mine being so short is that they were kept in a 16oz party cup for one month, then transplanted to a gallon container. The containers are from a friend and unfortunately I cannot disclose anymore. I can, however, recommend NOT to put plants in clear or semi clear pots. It seems that my plants in solid color pots have MUCH thicker and more lush root systems than my others that were in clear containers. Plus every clear container grew algae pretty bad.

A little extra advice -
Always pot autoflowers straight into their final pot around 6-8 litres. Lighting seems best when left on 20/4

Toocoolo, that doesn't look anything like a Lowryder2 and the fact that it hasn't flowered and is quite tall is another giveaway
