When to harvest male White Widow for pollen

Can anyone help me know when to harvest a male White Widow so I can make seeds, but before it pollinates any females? Any pics would realy help. I just pulled a crystal male thinking it was ready but there doesnt seem to be any pollen in any of the bananas? I have a very nice White Widow female and I want to make seeds on a lower bud but only a lower bud. The male has balls that are hanging but so did the crystal male? So what should I do? Thanks and time is short as I would rather pull him then lose my first nice legal med female (and I realy need the bud lol).

There must be someone here whos knows this stuff? I realy need the seeds but only on one bud so I need to let it grow pollen but to pull the plant before it has a chance to pollenate my fems. How can I tell if its ready with out letting him "DO" my girls??

just pull the male and let it rippen more outside or under a different light in another part of the house. It doesn't need much light after the bananas start showing. Put a plastic bag over it and seal it around the bottom of the stalk. Cut small holes in the corners of the bag for air. The banana's will start to split open and the plastic bag will catch the pollen.

I don't know how you tell before they are ripe and it probably depends on the strain, you might have to grow afew and get an idea when they are ready. When they are mature you'll start seeing a yellow dusting on the leaves and if you move the plant the vibrations will cause pollen to fall everywhere.

I'd think it would take the male sacs about the same time as the female flowers to mature. No sense for the plant to pollenate a bunch of females that aren't mature so I'd think it would be around the same time.

The only thing you could do is break open a male sac every once in awhile and see if it contains pollen dust or if it's still a wet mess.

Out of 5 Blueberries, I got 2 males. I put one in another room with a small cfl. It blew its wad when the buds on the girls were only like 2 inches long.
I collected some plloen in a measuring cup and then took a small paintbrush and painted some on a certain bud Very carefully.
I still got 2-3 weeks to go so I do not know if it worked or not. I hope so, these bitches smell so good.
Now those same buds are 6 inches long and main colas are at least 14".
I think I still have the pollen in the same cup. I might try jizzing on another popcorn bud just for the sake of experimentation.

You might be too late. If you only have 2-3 weeks to go, that is not enough time for the seeds to fully develop. You might get seeds but they will just be duds. If your first pollination worked, the hairs on the flower should have turned brown and seed sacks should have developed. They can sometimes be hard to see but the bud will look slightly different from the rest.

I pollinated when they were only 2 weeks INTO flower.
Yes the hairs turned orange a day or so later.
Checked the bud last night and it is so different than 10 others I looked at, I think it took well. I am very happy now.
Today is the beginning of week 7.

I hope my ph probe shows up today. One of my six ladies is in a 2 gal dwc. the rest in soil.
I went to change the rez the other day and I broke my probe's little glass ball AFTER I dumped the old solution and mixed new.
So I had to take an educated guess on the ph up ----YIKES!!!

Glad you got it pollinated. The seeds may start dropping anytime now if you pollinated it early, otherwise just hang that bud with the rest of them to dry and you should have a pile of nice beans.

Has soon has the male flowers open but the best way is put a female and male side by side two differant strains.let nature take it's course and leave them there for a while but make sure that you go no where near any plants that you don't want pollanateing it can even be carried on your cloths.once the flowers have opened and the female has been in floer a few week you will have your own strain.but get in the shower and wash put your cloth's in the washer or you will have loads of seeds.

..But if you capture the bannannas in a ziploc, you can use a paintbrush to select which buds to seed, so you don't end up with a whole plant of seeds..
