HPS Bulb problem.

Hi, I've used this HPS bulb for about 1 full grow, and 2 that equivs a half grow (flowering time). At the time I remembered the bulb being very hot. Now, I can put my hand 1 inch from the bulb. I forgot to mention that its a 600w HPS bulb. Not sure what brand. Will this affect my grow? I'm on my second week of flowering now and I haven't really see much loss of brightness or lumens, whatever.
