Is LST and/or topping actually worth while??? I mean i know it gives alot more top colas but is it at a cost of smaller colas?? More colas with less bud or less colas with more bud. Is this how it works?? I wouldn't mind trying these methods but i would only do it if its going to increase my yield. Otherwise, in my opinion is its all a big waste of time.

Why don't you try topping half, the rest let grow natural; you can answer this for all of us.
I personally do not top anymore, I love the way weed grows.

not entirely, if you lst and veg them a couple weeks longer then you can end up with alot of huge colas. I lst and average between 8-11 colas per plant. I veg untile the stem is about 18 inches and all the branches and main stem are about 8 inches high. and i get a pretty good yield, way more than when i just let em go. Each cola of mine is about 4-5 inches in length and averages maybe an 1/8-1/4 each dried and cured. so with 10 colas per at lets say an average weight of 1/6 i get 1.5 ounces per plant +-
You could always veg em longer too. there are a couple journals from some pros on here with lst plants 3 feet tall and pullin a QP per.

You have no ceiling! So LST is silly. Top if you want her to bush out or if she is really stretchy.

what soes lst have to do with a ceiling??? LST is about making more top colas not about making a smaller plant.

OK. You do not make more tops when you LST. You train the plant the way you want it, in the shape you want it...usually because you have limited light penetration from an artificial sun source. Yes it may increase yield, as you can veg longer and get a nice root system and then provide good, unshaded light to all colas. Outdoor beyond controlling the shape so as to not look like a typical Cannabis plant, I do not see the point. Check out some of the very successful outdoor growers (subcool or FDD2blk come to mind)...some top, but I have not seen any that LST

Topping does not create 2 extra tops either...they were already there...you actually lose at least the one you cut off to top. But it will change the shape...and slow her down.

And these large LST plants that yield multiple o's would be trees if not tied and trained

if you don't have to worry about hight then in my mind yes it is. your going to get more bud sites but smaller buds. grow them big trim the lower branches promote all the growth to the main larger buds and you will have a nice harvest.

i've read in many places tho that when you lst it increases your yield...what if i used LST and did a top or two and also pruned??? wouldn't this make the many bud sites grow bigger because all the energy is focused to the bud sites?
