Ive seen the threads for wiring an HPS for remote ballast but I have yet to find anything for a MH. the light I have has the ballast, ignitor, and the socket any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ok is this a high bay or low bay light fixture, or is it a kit that you bought.

its actually and outdoor security light i found in my dads garage i wanna make sure everything is ok im kinda worried about indoor growing but i have experience outdoors. dont wanna burn the house down you know!

If you can take a picture it would help. Also are there any stickers with a model number.

unfortunatly i dont have a camera on the ballast it says its a MH 100 watts lamp is m90 class H 1029A volt 120 current 4.0 AMPS. The ballast itself has a black/yellow wire, 2 white, 1 red,1 blue the blue wire says X3 on it both whites say COM the red says LAMP the black/yellow says 120V. The ignitor has 1 white,blue, and red and they say the same as the ballast wires while the socket has one black one white wire

Just buy a plug and hook the black/yellow 120V wires to it so you can plug it in to a residential outlet. Take the wires going from the socket to the ballast to the hardware store and match them up, buy your required length of matching wire and extend the existing wires so it is long enough to keep the ballast somewhere else and have the socket and whatever kind of reflector you rig up, hanging over your canopy.

yeah i would but i dont know what connects to what because the ballast ignitor and socket are not connected!

one thing about outside light like that is some have an eye that detictes the dark to make like come on. 2 things you can do if this is the type you have. 1st is totolydisconect the eye, or 2 witch os way easer is just take some black tape and cover the eye, this way it will come on no matter what time of day.goodluck

thanks mygirls but there is not a sensor i just need to figure out how to wire the socket,ballast, and ignitor together so i can make it a remote ballast i will no longer be using the housing
