Default Growing multiple plants in same container
I hear everyone say not to let your plants root systems intermingle but why not? The only reason i found is that its easier for mold, diseases, and bugs to spread..........but ill take that chance to get more yield out of my closet setup.

So can anyone give me a better reason not to do this?

Your plants/roots will have to fight for space, air, water, nutes, and eventually only one will win if that.

I done this a few times, heres my 2 cents.

If you have yet to determine sex chances are you will get males and females in the same pot. It will be impossible to completely remove the male and its root system without seriously harming the female. Leaving dead root matter in with growing plants is a surefire way to get root rot which will kill your plant.

Other than that, I would only reccomend having multiple plants of the same lineage (read: not just strain, but specific phenotype) in the same pot. otherwise one will surely outgrow the others and eventually overrun the canopy.

Having said that, if you take clones from the same plant that are the same size and put them together in a container of adequate size then you should be okay.

However, in any event, unless you're doing hydro. I'd still reccomend doing seperate smaller pots rather than alot of plants in one big one. At the end of the day it just makes things that much easier.
