What influences a plant to become male or female? reason asking is because if u take clones from a non flowered or non male or female plant that has not showed sex yet thats still in the vegging period what will influence the clones that u cut to be a male or female? can anyone help me out?!?!Tricky question huh the reason i ask is because i have random seedlings and i want to cut clones from them in the vegg period so i will have a more chance at gettin female plants but how sure is this method???

The clones would be the same sex as the mother plant. Thats how you find the sex of your mother.

Noooo look a plant has no sex until it flowers its like humas we are all females until 8wks them we show our sign of sex! so im saying if u have random plants with no sex and u clone them what will be the possibility that u will get female plants.

Did a lot of research so far.

Cannabis is like the human reproductive system; only difference is that they do not have sex with each other. When a seed is produced it has both male and female chromosomes. when it is in the vegg stage it is not sexed yet which means if you were to take a clone it would have male and female chromosomes, it is not until flowering that it shows sex such as humans it is not until eight weeks that the fetus takes the xy(male) or xx(female) traits whichever is dominate. Different environments influences rather it becomes a male or female I will update as I read more but this is just the beginning

Let me try and understand what you are saying. Lets say a plant is grown from seed and is kept in the vegetative state. Then clones are taken from that plant, and depending on the environment the clones are in will determine the clones sex?

yes it depends on the situations of the environment if the temp is too hot it prob will produce a male if its low temp it will prob be a female it varies from plant to plant depends of dominate chromsomes also just like a child I have read all this from wikapedia and seed banks and I am reading more
