Hi so my friend has a couple clones he just cut we put them in the cornor behind a board so they didn't get any direct light for 4 days or so then put them in a homemade cloning tray using a box and suran wrap for about 3 days now under a 400w mh and some leaves are turning yellow how much longer should we leave them in the box and why are some leaves turning yellow.??

well the 400 watt light is a huge mistake. A 32 watt florescent shop light or 13 watt cfl is what you should be at. The mom was in veg when clones cut right so they had good nitrogen build up in the leaves? Mist daily and open the top? Ph water you used? Are they in rockwool or other material? Temps?what rooting hormone did you use?

Also they are in small rockwool cubes in a tray in about an inch of water

Ok you said rockwool while I was typing. the cubes should not be sitting in water. the cube must just be moist not dripping just lightly moist or roots will be slow or not develop. You soiak the cubes in 5.5 ph water the shake them dry all excess water out just moist to touch do not squeeze. I like to soak in a very very light nitrogen solution or even clonex clone solution to give a boost as soon as roots form Mist twice a day and open for 5 mionutes 2-3 times aday

We used a gel and stim root dipped the gel then stim root powder temp i dunno water tap water and 400 mh is all thats avaiable

Use only gel or powder not both and make sure if its powder you knockj off excess you just want a light coating. You dont have a simple 4 buck cfl laying around? A shop light or florescent light hell even a 40 watt house bulb at worse can be used if had to be. The 400 watter is killing them as HID light is to intense for plants that have no roots and are so young in life. they will die as you already yellowed them from it

i use both also and roots in about 7days.

You dip in gel and then powder? Why do so as it is a waste of products? Use one or the other and roots generally in 3-5 days under florescent with a cheap dome and seedling mat.
