sarcasm? i hope not...there is more than enough information on this website for you to have found that answer. you should read threads. read grow journals with similar set ups as your's.

but yea, one CFL ain't gonna get it...not even close

hey i need the same answer but i want to do 12/12 from seed and in a small 16" in hight and 9" in width and 15" in depth and i want to majorly lst all of them but i have only going to have like 7 and lst them and do 12/12 but i only have 2 of the 26w cfls and i am worried that wont be enough (SADLY becuz one broke :( so i am going to add a extra 13w cfl that i found laying around but i am going to try and sex 7 of them and then flower only the females:)and i am trying to grow 1-3 plants to bud will those light work ? there 2700k (all of them) the 26w cfls give off 1750 lumens each and the 13w one gives off 800 so ill have 3500+800=4300 lumens will that work for 1-3 plants to bud? there going to be majorly lstd and really short and bushy

still not enough light city...

a 42wCFL only puts out about 2600 lumens on its own. the more lumens, the better...as long as your temperatures aren't being affected too much by radiant heat.

u said you're only growing one plant...well i'd say go with at least 4, maybe 5 of those buggers. go to a good sized hardware store, LOWES or HD, and read the back of the packages about luminosity and spectrums of light for each bulb.

when vegging, u want a more BLUE spectrum light, still lots of it, in the higher frequency range (4000-6000). to flower, switch over to a lower frequency bulb (you still want to at least maintain the same amount of LUMENS, so don't use less light) in the 2000 range.

i went to home depot and bought 2 27w cfl at 1400 lumens each and i put those on my plants (i started another one). im gonna buy a 42w bulb when i can find one.

sorry dude, you're not getting it. you need way more light than that. just go get 4 x 42w and be ready to add more as your plants grow.

P.S those 27w should do fine but try and get enough to support ur plants u can TOTALLY grow with those but u WILL need to upgrade the lights when u start to flower or as the plant gets bigger the amount of lumens the sun gives off on a sunny day is about 10,000 lumens by the time it reaches the plant which is the best but i would go with about as much that u can get around 5,000 minium but u can start off the plants with those for a few weeks just be sure to get CLOSE to 5,000 but the more the better as long that u can keep the temps down i learnt this from reading forums like this for the past year and i askd the same questions about 13sw cfls until i hustled up some money for 27w cfls and the guy said he had a plant that he FORGOT about and left in the dark for about 2 weeks from seed and it grew with no light at all (altho it was about half as big and it would of been with any light) and sapposably was instead of being green like ANY normal plant it was white:P have no idea thats what a guy told me but those will work BUT! MAKE SURE U HAVE CLOSE to 5,000 lumens per sq ft just check out the pc grow on here with 20-27w cfls they use 3-4 and get around a oz off em and can grow 1-2 plants thats what im doing but in a stealth cabnit in stead gl bro and be sure to make a grow journal if this isnt it GL hope u understand what i said:P be sure to lst or scrog

i started 4 spourts on a 24w 6500k rated 1350 lummens light. after two weeks i was on my third set of leaves and they all looked very very healthy nice big green leaves. the cfl light had a dome reflecter and was just inch away from the seedlings at all times on a 24/7 cycle. i eventually added more lights but the fact of the matter was for the first two weeks the plants survived and grew very well on the light provided. But again i did add more light after this becuase i decided to flower early, thats how healthy they were :) anyways thats my 2 cents
