Hi people,

I had a friend give me enough seeds to start a forest. I don't know how long (years?) they have been stored in the container. Can age effect a seed being able to germinate? I tried to germinate some using the wet towel method but nothing. I have never had luck with that one any way. I'm now back the standard seed in soil.

Any ansewers O Guru of the Green?

i've had seeds germ after as many as eleven years. i think fdd has some that are 20+ years old, and he got them to germ....

the biggest thing with beans is that they have to be stored properly. dry, airtight, and light tight.

what color are your seeds, are they pale or white?

well from what i gathered. is the older the seeds the harder the germination
