| | Boiling Trick I learned...check it out | | Hello all. I ahve been meaning to share with you all a procedure I heard about and then used on my first crop. It worked well, and I am sure I will do it from now on.
A grower friend of mine said he pulls the plant during harvest all the way out and seperates the dirt. Then We took the plants and sat the roots in a big pot of boiling water for 5 minuites. Now the idea is to force the remaining THC, or any sugars to the rest of the plant.
Now I didnt write this to get into a big debate about the science of a plant,. I will tell you though when I did this you can actually see several purple veins run up the stem from the roots to the top part of the plant. I mean you can actualy see this happen.
So anyways here are some pics. Enjoy and Also we noticed when we did this the plant got real sticky and it appeared to be even more crystaly. I dont know about the crystaly part, we could have just been high. lol |

| | interesting post, you should try to find 2 branches of the same plant that have identical buds and then do the boil method on one and not the other then cure then together. see if there a difference that would be cool |

| | I'm not trying to be mean, but this is a really old myth, really, really old and science says it's BS, also in Jorge Cervantes' books he talks about boiling roots and says "people who boil roots are CRAZY" even pulling the root ball out of the soil is a complete mess and waste of time, just cut it off at the soil line. Not trying to burst your bubble i know you just want to try something new but this myth has been around a long time and we growers of the present know it does nothing but leave you with a pot of cannabis root tea............... |

| | Man, that takes the cake ! The proof is in the pudding!
What if Benjamin Franklin had been discouraged from flying a kite in a lightening storm? What if Alexander Hydro had been discouraged from growing pot in water? LOL, Just kiddin, I made that one up!
I will say I've seen some crazy experiements done here, human urine, dog crap, mollasses in Hydro, but I still think experimentation should be encouraged!

I agree. I might try boiling the roots in Absinthe on one of my plants next harvest just to see what happens | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
