i am growing in an attic and as u know its gonna get hot as hell up there i have a 2x2x4 box that is completel sealed and has intake from the outside by a duct in the roof now would this blower mod rated at 1200 cfm on low be good enough to cool my 400w hps and the box if the temps get like 100 in the box? any opnions on this is it worth it ??? overkill?? and is this thing loud if it is can i build a muffler for it?

You need a cool tube.

And yes that fan will be loud

i have a cooltube its right above the box how lpud will i be ive reaf topics where people say its not loud at all anyone have this thing???

its gonna be in the attic and in other topics it says u cant hear it in the next room... they say its very quit for the cfm it gives off

its not a leaf blower its the blower mod from stanley it has speeds and u can rig it up as a duct fan and muffle it out

If it has adjustable speeds, mo bettah!

1200 CFM is alot tho. I use a 180 cfm at about 75-85 percent power thru a 6' cool tube to cool a very small closet. Also I actually sucl the air from the room in one side and the other gets vented via inline fan to the attic...

Also the corrugated tubing like for a dryer is teh suck. The airflow characteristics are terrible, try to get the expandable ducting that is not corrugated. Its really smooth on the inside so your more efficient (you need less cfm cuz its easier to push the air thru). Also alot less loud!

the way i would rig this up is have my box connected to the 400w hps in the cooltube and have it hooked up to the intake on the blower and bugee it to reduce noise and attact another duct to blow it out of the attic any idea if this would work? i know its alot of cfm but its alot of eat and since i have the intake hooked up to the attic also it will draw in more fresh aire stabalizing the temps inside the cab even though its gonna be hot as hell in the attic my only question is is it verrrrrrrrry loud to where it can be heard in the next room or not and would i be able to stick it in a box and muffle it out to reduce the noise??

if i hav less cfm thn it wont get the heat out which is what i am aiming for i need the boxes temps to be stable and that an would be perfect just need to know if its gonna be crazy loud
