Thanks for explaining that far more eloquently than me Brick Top. Right now, it has go through/is in the process of going through 3 house committees--Health, Judiciary II, and Finance. Beyond that, I imagine it will have to make similar Senate rounds as you indicated. So yeah, its got a while still, but it won't be enacted until Dec 1 2009 anyway.Originally Posted by Brick Top

They'll prescribe you meds that call for your being cautious while driving that are muscle relaxants, pain killers, etc......and to take your license away??? Oh brother.....Look, I'm a damn good driver, TYVM....never been charged for a single accident--people just like to hit me every few years. But hey, I'm the nicest person you'd ever like to be in an accident with.......car totaled and thrown every which way and I'll never sue you.
Back on track...I'm a BETTER driver when smoking. I'm not uptight, my muscles are relaxed and I'm FOCUSED even moreso than I already would have been "otherwise."

this is not true. the law is zero tolerance agains dui and dd (drugged driving) and applies to here and now. this bill has an amendment that would exempt pot smokers from falling into that category.
please read, don't just take a word on it.

I believe Jerry was referring to Tennessee. As far as I'm concerned, I don't care what state does/doesn't enforce that....it's just WRONG.
i agree to a certain extent.... the way the laws are now, if you test positive for marijuana, you're driving drugged (and we all know that testing positive and being high are two completely different things...). this is why they make a clause to exempt medical mj users from the dd category.
i would hate to spend time in jail because i smoked a bowl two weeks prior to an incident.... ya know?
