Hey guys. I stumbled onto this site the other day and i fell in love. You guys are awesome. Okay so I am planning on starting a closet grow room in my apartment within the next month. Ive grown outdoors a couple times but nothing serious. I want to grow something great. i am graduating high school in 10 days and am planning on using my grad money for a closet grow room and I need some advice on what to buy for a complete grow system. I am planning on spending roughly $400-500 or more if need be.
I was thinking of buying a 1000w High pressure sodium light, would this be a good investment?
Or would this be too big for a smaller closet?
Any thouhts on other lights?

Could you maybe just give me a list of all the supplies and what I would need to get the grow room started?

Whats the size of the closet???A 1000watter is great if u have the means to keep the temps low otherwise just forget it...i would rather get a 400w or a 600w conversion and some fluro tubes for side lighting that would kick some serious ass...just keep in mind that u need to keep the temps around 80º wich is pretty hard to achive with a 1kw bulb inside a small area....anyway with 500$ u can get great gear...

Good to hear you starting out..Temps are a issue with that kinda of watter..Vent out old air n suck new air in .. Or try a couple 250watters..That way you will have more coverage..And you can have A mh here A hps theirs ..You get the jist of it..Spread the light out evenly..Good luck..Cant wait to see your future grow...

Im still looking for apartments so i don't know the exact dimensions of the closet yet. What would be the optimal size of a grow room closet? I kind of just want to have a few plants that are a few feet tall or so.
I was also wondering what are some good seeds that would be well suited to growing indoors in a closet. I was thinking of getting some of those 100% Feminized seeds. I was thinkin of a setup kind of like this:

The amount of space that you have to grow in should determine how much light you use. That picture looks like about 2x2 foot canopy size, and the lamp is probably a 400w, maybe a 600w. For 16 sqft or larger, use a 1000w.
