Got my new scrog setup in order with hempy buckets, the plants are now 2 weeks old and though not show in the pic the 400w MH bulb is gone in as well, although its turned down to 300w to save on leccy and heat. Aiming to pull 1gpw off these which is a touch over 14 zips, it should be just about doable I think but one of the plants is going pretty slowly compared to the other, hope it picks up the pace. Also the plants have been topped above 2nd node for 4 colas, trying to get these as bush like as possible.

Its a battle staying awake alright but i never miss a ufc, i watch them all live, it starts at 3am and main fight wont be til close to 6am, it was never a problem in my drinking days as i would sit up drinking all night anyway but now smoking weed instead tends to put the blinkers on and i need to splash cold water on my face to stay awake lolOriginally Posted by ae86 grower

Yar look at the holes in the buckets at the bottom, up to that level is filled with perlite only, the rest is filled with coco. The perlite base acts like a rez and when the plants roots touch the rez you get explosive growth. I would say 2 weeks will have the roots touching the rez. The best thing is at this stage I can go 1 week without watering it.
Thats fucked up! you just make a batch of A&B and bang it into that tank underneath and its fine for a week? the light shinning on it doesent screw up the nutes?

That's not a tank, it's a drain pan for the runoff. The nutes sit in the space between the bottom of the bucket, and the hole in the side. The plant then can suck up nutes from the rez as it needs them.

Nothing, I just realised a few weeks ago that I was going to do this rather than airpots as although the growth rate in them is good, they dry out too fast. With the hempys even in full bloom I could get away with a 3 days without water. And (supposedly) the growth rate is much better than just coco in a pot.
Holy shit i will give this shit a go with my seedling when i transplant it for a laugh, you need to wash the perlite first same as coco? just about 2-3 inches from the bottom and one hole in the bucket or more? its a bad day you dont learn something new
Also you just water from the top as usual?
