I'm trying to cut a hole through the top of my grow box to put a couple of extra eletrical sockets but I can't think of anything that will cut wood. And don't say saw cause that wouldn't work.

how about a hole saw, it attaches to your drill and cuts holes..even in wood or you could also use a spade bit to drill out a smaller hole..

What i did was i got a drill and made a small hole, then used a jigsaw and cut to size.

Please ask if you dont know what a jigsaw is, i cant account for cultural differences

the proper tool is a wood router. if you cant get one home depot rents tools pretty cheap

but nongreenthumb hit the nail on the head..thats how most people cut holes thru wood.

the spade and hole attachment that goes to a drill is mainly used for doorknobs, but that would also work.

and yeah, you can rent tools from home depot to do the job.
