Keep them in a small pot and have the lights on 12/12.. also you can prune them

How short do you want them?

I don't reccomend limiting the root system because that will lead to too many problems. Pruning and trimming the plants is a good way to keep the height limitation under control.

Look up SOG, SCROG, and LST on google and you will get a great idea on how to keep plants low style

If outdoors then just top them.
