Sounds like they wouldn't be mature yet if the pod isn't mature. Kinda like people who shoot blanks, don't want those if you're trying to breed..adios

i do it. i prefer this method. once they open it gets everywhere. the pod will open and the bananas will drop. if you clip them before the flowers open that is perfect. i watch them closely and try to get them just before the bananas drop. if you keep an eye on it you will see it happen. they get white and swollen. it's not to hard you just have to keep on top of it. this is why i strip all side branches as just leave the top to work with. it can get out of hand very quickly. good luck i hope you do well.

Oh, my mistake for that...guess it is possible...l8rs

the pods are getting bigger and bigger and more seperate from each other. dont see the whiteness your talking about though fdd. would it be ok to just pluck these pods off and put them in a baggy in the fridge or freezer? what would be the problems with doing this too soon? any info apreciated.

gently pluck one off. take it somewhere far away. ever so carefully peel it apart. is there white powdery stuff in it? it has to be powdery in the pod before it is viable. i was actually taken the fat swollen ones, plucking then off. then i would pinch just the tip of the pod off. squeeze and roll gently between fingers and "milk" the pollen out. it would form a little powdery ball on the tip of the pod. then i would simply dab this onto a selected female flower. check page #7 post #67. Milking my nuts.

never frozen it. kept it in a sealed dark jar for months though.

Freezer has lasted 14 months and still makes seeds, far less viable then at the 2 week mark though
