Hey guys, just had a quick question. ive been reading on some of the threads that during flowering, the lower leaves and some of the fan leaves should be removed to allow for the plant to focus growth on the buds.
I was just wondering if there was any truth to this. Also, im about 3 & 1/2 weeks into flowering and the bottom leaves are starting to die out (fans and branches alike). would it be recommended to cut the bottom parts off that aren't producing buds even if they aren't dead yet? figured id also post some bud porn as well

A plant’s leaves are like solar collectors, they absorb the light rays and that is then used for all the different function of the plant including growth. They are important if you want a healthy well growing plant. They do not take away from other growth, they are the reason there is other growth.
You can get rid of anything that is dead though. They are of no value.

from reading around the site and talking the consensus is to leave all the leaves, unless dead. I personally have been trimming big fan leaves from my veggers, but thinking of not after learning. well maybe some still just to see if its true haha

I say don't remove them. maybe a few are ok if they are blocking some major branches, but most of the fan leaves are helpful for producing. Less leaves = less product (unless there is major blockage!). So keep them if you can, and move them out of the way. You can use some string to tie them to other branches and pull them out of the way, which is better than chopping them off. The key here is the leaves do work for the plant, and the energy from the light is converted into buds. Cutting them off is like wasting light waves.
