Hello everybody!!!

I'm late starting a journal for my current grow. The plants are already about one month into flowering. I didn't start earlier because I was a little disappointed from my last grow. Some of you maybe remember that on my last grow I ended up with 4 out of 4 males. I was growing with cfls and they were some beautiful plants....but unfortunately with balls!!

A few things about what happened since then:
I've put 6 seeds in between paper towels to germinate. 5 of them did and then all 5 sprouted. They were put under cfls, and were growing nicely. I didn't train them at all, because maybe by luck, maybe not, all plants that I've trained, became male. So I decided to just let them grow.
After about 4 weeks, i switched to 12/12 and flowering started. This time, I was up for a pleasant surprise 4 out of 5 females!!!!!!!
I also took just one clone with the intention to grow it as a mother plant.

I knew that I couldn't support all 4 just with cfls, so I went shopping. I got:
250W hps with cooltube
carbon filter
powerful exhaust fan

After setting up the hps, the plants really really started growing. It was unbelievable. I knew that there was no way that they could fit inside my closet, so I decided, even if it was a bit late, to put a screen on top of them, and train them. At least as much as I could. My grow became scrog!!

I am now facing some smaller or bigger problems. I'm going to explain in the next post.

Closet Dimensions: 31'' x 23'' x 42'' (80cm x 60cm x 106cm)

Nutes: Bio-Grow
Bio-Bloom
Bio-Heaven
Top Max
pH: 6.5 (after adding nutes to the water)

nice looking plants, but at a month they are a dad behide., probly due to your light. i would run one more 250wtt hps that would do it.

Thanks man!!! I very much appreciate it, coming from you.... I've seen your monsters, and I also remember several months ago some other of your pics with some amazing plants. I think they were in another room, weren't they?

I do agree that they should be fatter by now. I'm trying to figure out why they're not. I don't believe it's because of the lights. Of course if I could, I'd put another 250W hps tomorrow, but there's no way I could fit it in my closet (it's too small), and I'd also have heat problems. I've narrowed my thoughts down to two and I'd really like to know what you think.

First thought: Maybe they were a bit shocked when i switched from cfls to hps, bending them to fit them under the newly placed screen.

Second thought: (...and the one I'm more embarrassed to admit!!) As I said, my closet is a lot smaller than I'd like. That's why I used smaller pots than I'd like. I ended up using 1.5gl pots for each plant, which is maybe too small.... Another thing that pointed me to the same direction is that if you look at the following pics carefully, you'll see that some of the hair started to turn red. That shouldn't be happening so early!! So... I don't even want to write it... i may be having problems with root bound. The thing is that it's impossible for me to transplant now, because of the way the plants are trained and tied under the screen. Even if I could take the plants out of the closet, I have no more height. Right now the coultube is a high as it can be, and you can see where the buds are. I really really pray that this is not the case....even if it takes 10-11 weeks for them to flower.

if your in a closet 250 should be fine. i really belive in the bud blood and big bud nuts. what a diffrence with then with out. and yes i have been in every room in my place. even the shed. LOL keep it up they look great

IM leaning towards the rootbound thing.To flower a plant in a scrog set up I would at least go with 3 gallons so your plant can have root room.I veg with a 1 gallon bag or 1/2 and flower in a 3 gallon.

Normally I would've transplanted, but this time I was a bit afraid of the height, and that they wouldn't fit in the closet, because as I said I trained them late...
Anyway, what can I do now??
I'm trying to find some possible way to give the roots more space...given that I can't move the pots out of the closet.
Maybe scissor cut the pot that they're in now, so I can remove it easier, and then use a bigger pot and wrap it around??? The roots won't have any vertical space to grow, but maybe they can use the extra soil and grow sideways?
what do you think?

I would scissor cut the net take em out and transplant but thats me. As longs as you give the roots space to grow it will be alright.

im with you on that also. myself i will even pell half of the rockwool cube apart to alow root expantion a lot better. good luck

That's the right thing to do. The only problem will be the height. I may try to find some bigger pots, but I would be looking for wider pots and not taller. I'll go on Monday.

Right now I'm mixing some yeast with sugar water. I want to give them a little more co2...

do that when you transplant.you giving them steroids is gonna make them bigger and problem might get worse.
