Well, my mom had a collapsed lung from a car accident before, but when you told me of air in the chest cavity, I assumed the lung had somehow ripped or burst.

Lungs can be ripped from the inside. It happens to some people during early adulthood usually tall and skinny. What happens is air bubbles form inside your lungs and can stay there for a long time. But if one bursts it can create a hole in the lung causing it to deflate and air goes in the chest cavity. Good news is that it has nothing to do with smoking and it is also pretty rare. Bad news is that if bubble formations inside the lungs are extensive it can only be treated with surgery and if both lungs are ripped simultaneously you die. Happened to a friend of mine a few months ago so I learned everything about it!

but seriously dude with the panic attack you want more CO2 than oxygen to help your body relax. try smoking weed or breathing into a brown paper bag(or both at the same time)

LOL...wow a good ol' fashion panic attack lol..dam those suck!! its happened to me,and every one I know....however what is the cause of the panic..i usaully have them wener i smoke some good shit..since i live in the hood,and the police harras ppl here left n rite! im always scared theyr gonna come break my door down lol...
