I am planning to set up a veg/flowering room in a 10 ft by 12 ft room with 8 foot ceilings. It's a second floor room of a large house and im located in british colombia .. the temperature/climate outside is usually mild never extremely hot or cold.

I would like to save some money but i do have lots of money so i am open to all suggestions regardless of price. In return for all your helpful advice i will take pictures step by step and update this thread reguarily.

As of right now i was planning to use four 1000 watt hps/mh lights or six 600 watt hps/mh lights. My understanding was 1000 watt is adequate for 5x5 ft and 600 watt is adequate for 3x3 ft. I was thinking of growing in 5 gallon pots with soil.

I will be buying clones from a friend, not using seeds or making my own clones. As for other equipment i was thinking of a 500 cfm exhaust fan..the room is 960 cf so 500cfm would empty the whole room every 2 minutes? Also i will buy a atmosphere controller, water pump etc for watering, a carbon filter & some oscilating fans. I will sanitize the room and plastic sheet it off to air seal it and build trays for the plants so the water doesnt go all over the place if it drips out the bottom of the pots.

My question to you is what other equipment would you use, how would you arrange all said equipment & do you think a dehumidifier & air conditioner are nessacary considering my climate and exhaust fan capability.

wow really a first time grower? you sound like you have everything planned out. thats really good. all your equpment is excellent.

If temps arent at an extreme, you plant will grow just fine. remember- its not just called a weed for no reason. it can grow in all sorts of conditions. also, humidity is very seldomly a problem so I would just say you are good for now. if something happens when you start growing, just ask and I bet it won't be the humidity.

oh yea, find some good nutes if you havent already but dont start using them until the 4th week of growing. if you havent picked out the soil yet, you should go with Fox Farms Ocean something. the bag is blue/green. you'll know it when you see it. also make sure u have a pH meter.

since money is no issue... hire modles to stand next to your plants and look sexy. are we geting ahead of our selfes? lol id get a PH meeter and an EC(ppm) meeter for shure. maby a water filter... have you thought about puting your lighting on tracks? moveing light around the room lets you put the light closer to the plants. and more even light to all the plants...

all jokes aside the way your planing to do it is a good solit idea. simple way to start off. just make shure if your gona do soil you get good soil... niace airy good drainage but still nice water retention.

Among all the little measuring devices and tools, I would invest in both a dehumidifier and a humidifier. Does the house have forced central air conditioning? If not, I would also get a portable A/C. Also be prepared for pest infestation...esp gnats.
