whats the best way to pollinate a female plant?

is it possible to only pollinate one section of the plant so that the nicer looking colas will remain seed free?

Take the male out, if the sacks are present, just cut the branch off with the sacks and put the stem in a cup of water. The sacks will continue to develop and open. Once the sacs open, take a q-tip, gather some pollen. Take the female you want to seed out of the room, rub the q-tip on a few flowers.
When you replace it, there is a risk of some pollen getting in the air, but it is minimal. You can mist with water for a few days. Only the sites that you polinate will seed.

pull off pollen sacs, store em in film container with dry rice. to use empty pollen sacs and apply with paint brush, to bottom half of plant. or collect pollen from plant via cup or plate and apply

sorry for butting in buuuuut........how long after you see pollen sacs is the pollen viable ??? right away or do they need to "mature" ?
