Ive recently been reading that it is a good idea to keep a mother clone plant in vegetative state for its life. I was wondering if i can use an inexpensive florescent light to keep it alive and slow growing? Pretty much the same florescent i would put the clones under. Will my mother have enough light? I really don't want to spend the money running another Metal Halide. Thanks a lot for the help! - Yota
you should be able to use the same light, the mother does not need too much, so a few decent flouro's should do the trick, alot of growers, have the seperate room that is filled with clones and the mother
yeah, shoplights holding a couple 4ft cool floro tubes (i'd have two shoplights over the plant = 4 bulbs) 25 bucks and it'll keep you mother nicely... just top the girl a lot to have lots of spots to cut from...

Welcome Yota
Clone mothers do not need very much light at all.
I would say 1 26w cfl would work.
I use 15w 21" pruple grow fluro's for my mother and clones.
I guess it depends on how fast you want her to grow.
At the rate I am going I will be able to continue taking 4 clones every 2-3 weeks off of this same mom with this little bit of light.
