As for watering, I don't see this being as big of a problem as keeping your soil in the pot while keeping drainage holes. And I don't see hydro being an option for upside-down growing. But this is an interesting subject.. |

This would be crazy. how exactly is the water to be held in an upside down container.. how is root growth stimulated in this way? So many questions! someone has to try this//

yeah couldn't you just make a 1 inch hole in the bottom of any pot, stuff a piece of rockwool in there with a seedling in there, and then fill the bucket with soil? wouldn't that do just about the same thing?

But then the roots would switch directions according to the rules of un-defiable gravity and grow down and out of the pot towards the plant. It all depends on what type of plant being used, if the plant is phototropic it will grow down towards the light beneath it, but if the plant is gravitropic, the plant will turn and grow upwards regardless of light position, and the roots will still grow down and out of the pot.

I've been reading on this, and may just try it as an experiment with one of my tomato plants first. This lady made her own out of a plastic bag.
Very simple and basic, but it seems to work. You could even use a 2L plastic soda bottle. Another benefit is that the plant can be placed out of reach from animals. Peace
